McDougall Farm Community Garden is a project initiated by the City of South Perth (the City) for the benefit of residents. The project itself is being carried forward by local residents of all ages and abilities.
Our intent is to create a safe, supportive gardening environment and community hub for all residents of the City. We aim to promote a sense of community, where trust, effort, knowledge, skill and responsibility are shared. Where creativity, quality and the environment are nurtured. Where equity and philanthropy can flourish in our community garden.
Our members respect the heritage of the site, other users of the Neil McDougall Park, peoples of all ages and ethnicity. We value inclusion in both participation in the garden and in decision making.
We are seeking donations of seed raising pots (100mm - 120mm) from the community. We also need star pickets (2m or longer) and shade cloth (minimum 3m x 2m). If you can help, preferred delivery is on Saturday mornings. Alternatively donations can be left any day next to the pizza oven with your name and contact number. Your help is appreciated!
If gardening is your thing, then we need you. We welcome both experienced gardeners and those who are still growing their green thumbs. Contact us via our online form to let the committee know you are interested in volunteering.
